Built on people: The culture driving Pipe Core’s next chapter

Pipe Core’s evolution has been driven not just by technology, but by its people.

Pipe Core has evolved well beyond the traditional model of materials and equipment supply, positioning itself today as a true trenchless delivery partner. Its service model now spans technology selection, training, project support, maintenance, and spare parts—supporting the full project lifecycle from inspection and cleaning through to repair, maintenance, and renewal across wastewater, stormwater, drinking water, and culvert-style assets.

While Pipe Core’s role in the market has expanded significantly, the team behind the strategy has remained steady, aligned, and deeply embedded in the business. Since new ownership took the reins in 2019, many of the foundation team members have continued on, evolving in their roles as the company itself has grown.

In 2025, that stability reached a rare milestone with zero internal staff turnover. At the same time, Pipe Core supported its next phase of growth with five new roles created and five new team members onboarded to strengthen capability and customer delivery. Stability and growth have moved forward together.

Equally important has been the way Pipe Core has nurtured and progressed its existing team. A natural 50/50 gender balance has remained consistent across the business, with two women stepping into senior leadership roles, progression that has felt practical, timely, and earned rather than forced.

“I am proud to see our people rise through the ranks and come on the journey,” said CEO and Managing Director Jason Marshall. “The business has expanded significantly, and so many of the team have embraced that change and grown with it.”

Technical Manager Sergej Fast is one of those original team members, having joined the business in 2019.

“Pipe Core has a rare culture,” says Fast. “It’s a team that genuinely cares, about each other, about our customers, and about pushing the industry forward with quality materials and equipment. Our service model is built on partnership. We don’t believe in selling equipment without fully understanding our customer’s business and their project.”

In a niche and highly technical industry, internal progression plays a critical role in long-term capability. Much of what the team absorbs over time, technical nuance, project insight, and field-first problem solving, is difficult to teach quickly. Where it makes sense, Pipe Core prioritises developing talent from within and supporting people to build deep, practical expertise.

One example is Senior Account Manager Madeline Galbraith. Coming from a background in retail management, Galbraith joined Pipe Core in Trade Sales to support its growing distribution portfolio. Her progression into Account Manager and now Senior Account Manager reflects the business’s commitment to internal capability and customer continuity.

“We never wanted to just supply products,” says Marshall. “We wanted our team to help customers choose the right methods, configure equipment properly, and be supported to deliver reliably. That’s exactly what Madeline brings to her role.”

Across the business, the team brings together a mix of backgrounds, technical pathways, trade experience, and field-driven thinking. Diversity of experience and perspective has become embedded in how Pipe Core operates.

“We’re excited to continue evolving with an empowered, diverse team who are invested in delivering together,” says Marshall.

“With growth on the horizon, Pipe Core is an exciting place to be,” adds Trade Sales Supervisor Brittany Rawiri.
